Refund Policy
A free tier to try first, cancel anytime, and a no-questions money-back window on your first payment.
I want buying an ArnieWaves plug-in to feel low-risk and fair. There is a genuinely usable Free tier so you can try things before you pay a cent, and you can cancel a paid subscription at any time. Because of that, I keep refunds simple: a no-questions money-back window on your first subscription payment, and a straightforward, human process if something is genuinely wrong. This page explains how it works.
Try before you buy
ArnieWaves has a Free tier (€0, no credit card required). It is the intended way to evaluate the plug-in and decide whether a paid plan is right for you. There is no separate free trial — the Free tier is the trial.
If you later choose a paid plan (Basic or Pro), it is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly.
Cancel anytime
You can cancel your subscription whenever you like. When you cancel:
- You are not charged again.
- Your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After that, your account drops back to the Free tier.
You manage or cancel your subscription through the Paddle customer portal (see "Who handles payments" below), or just email me and I'll help.
Money-back window on your first payment
If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time and it turns out not to be right for you, you can ask for a full refund of that first payment within 14 days of it being charged. No questions asked, no hard feelings — just email me.
This applies to your first subscription payment. It is meant to cover the honest "this isn't what I needed" case.
After the money-back window
Once the 14-day window on your first payment has passed, refunds work like this:
- Cancelling stops all future billing, and you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
- Payments for the current period, and renewal payments, are generally non-refundable — including partial refunds for time you didn't use.
- I will still issue a refund where the law requires it, or at my discretion when there is a genuine problem — for example, the plug-in doesn't work for you and I'm unable to fix it. If something is broken, please tell me before asking for a refund; most issues I can sort out quickly.
ArnieWaves provides the plug-in "as is" and can't guarantee perfectly uninterrupted, glitch-free streaming, since that also depends on your network and third-party services. But a plug-in that genuinely doesn't work for you, and that I can't fix, is exactly the kind of case where I'll make it right.
Who handles payments (Paddle)
Payments for ArnieWaves are handled by Paddle (Paddle.com), acting as the merchant of record. In practice this means Paddle — not ArnieWaves — is the seller of record for the transaction: Paddle runs the checkout, processes your payment, handles tax/VAT, issues your invoice/receipt, and provides a self-serve portal where you can manage or cancel your subscription and download invoices.
Because Paddle is the merchant, refunds are processed through Paddle. The easiest way to request one is to email me at arnout.van.nieuwenhove@gmail.com and I'll arrange it with Paddle. Depending on your situation you may also be able to request a refund directly through Paddle. Either way, the refund is paid back to your original payment method by Paddle, and the timing depends on Paddle and your bank or card provider.
EU right of withdrawal (digital content)
ArnieWaves is based in the European Union, so if you are an EU consumer you normally have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.
There is an important exception for digital content: if you ask to start using a paid feature during that 14-day withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that doing so means you lose your right of withdrawal, then that statutory right can be waived once the paid feature has been supplied to you. This is standard for digital goods. In practice, the money-back window described above is designed to be at least as generous as this, so in most cases you're covered either way.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
How to request a refund
Email me at arnout.van.nieuwenhove@gmail.com. It helps if you include the email address on your account and, if you have it, your Paddle invoice or receipt number. There is no phone line and no other contact channel — email reaches me directly.
I read these myself and I'll get back to you as a person, not a script.
